This video was shot before my car accident. When I was visiting friends in Atlanta, they really pressured me in to going to the pool even though I'm mortified of being seen so heavy. It's been a bummer to be sick and not able to exercise. Also with my thyroid disorder, I just seem HUGE! Argh~! It's so frustrating! Well, here I have to just expose myself for what I am. I'm a woman on a mission to try to get my figure back, that is as soon as I get this darn back brace off. I hope and pray to God that I don't gain more weight. Does anyone out there want to go on a diet and lifestyle change with me? It might be good to support each other. My doctors say I have to be in this back brace for another 12 weeks. Thanks to God! Fortunately, I came out of everything "not too bad". I spoke with the neurologist, (who is great by the way) and the only fractures are in the T-5 vertabrae. In other words, part of the middle back from what I understand. I can walk! Yippee! There is no permanent paralysis! Another Yippee and a Thank You God! The only bad thing is I have to wear a full back and neck brace for a minimum of 8 weeks possibly more depending on how I heal. My first television appearance. Can you figure out which one is me? People who know me personally know that I was born and raised near the tri-state border of West Virginia, Kentucky and Ohio. Some refer to the area as the gateway to the Appalachian Smoky Mountains. It's a beautiful area, however, many look down on our culture and residents because we are poor. One of the most important lessons that I have learned thus far in my 48 years, is that money does not make someone a better person. A human beings character is not measured in dollars nor pounds nor the kind of car they drive, the dwelling that is their home. True human character and values such as integrity, honor, respect, good will, honesty and family values are the true wealth that measures a person. I am proud of my past, present and future and I hope that the lessons I have learned in life inspire others to be the best person that they can be. When I knew Fred 30 years ago in high school, he had long curly hair. I remembered his hair was past his shoulders in beautiful little black ringlets, kind of "Shirley Temple" style. It was adorable how the little curls would spring, if you know what I mean. So we tried an experiment where he didn't cut his hair until now. It had been so long since I had seen him with short hair, that we decided to do a before and after video :-) Then when his daughter saw what we were doing, she wanted to cut her hair too and change the color.
