One of the proudest moments of Chuck Connors life came in March of 1991 when he was inducted into the National Cowboy Hall of Fame in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

I love this episode, especially this scene in The North Fork Saloon where Dub (John Milford) & Buddy Link (Steve Rowland) are picking on Georgie Boy Collins(Carleton Carpenter). Watch closely to the part where Dubs is reading from George's journal. He is having himself a real good time! And of course once Lucas enters the saloon there is nothing but action here. How many shots were fired in the opening scene of The Rifleman? Try it & see what you come up with! At the beginning of each show, Lucas McCain would stride down the main street of North Fork and fire eleven shots at an imaginary enemy, as the voice-over announcer would introduce Chuck Connors starring as "The Rifleman." In an 1991 interview with Roy Firestone, Chuck explained that, "What you see and hear on the screen are eleven shots; what the weapon actually holds are eight shot. That was a camera trick so that the shooting would match the music—called dramatic license."
