This game is pretty lousy but I've played worse. The lack of a map (at least initially) and getting lost are also problems. I also contrast it to Legend of Zelda and compare the charge to Secret of Mana.

The dungeons will also be random too though a few levels will be the same. I just felt I had to make this since there really are so many games with a class system that either have a dull or lousy story or terrible moves in the classes if not useless classes (Dragon Quest 3's class change removes the thief's steal ability, Final Fantasy 5's berserker is utter crap, and Dragon Quest 6 has huge stat reductions for classes). Here is a class overview: Cheerleader-Support Magic and can heal. Duelist-Skills can have status anomalies. Blacksmith-Strongest class in the game physically. Martial Arts (not enough space for artist)-Self buffs + speed Invoker-Cause status anomalies with magic. Channeler-supports whole party (Cheerleader only 1 character) with magic. Translator- use specific diamond-shaped symbol items as magic and can translate bad English (enjoy this one).

Updated tutorial with better recording that is an overview: in a nutshell, it sorta plays similar to vs system (resource style like magic but any card rather than just lands), with the deck masters from the yugioh virtual world arc. Some general rules: Avatar ability needs to wait 4 turns before reusing (turn you use, opponent's turn, your next turn, then your opponent's next turn). You nail resources to pay for artifacts and characters. There are no bad/cheap cards to make gameplay unfair. The best cards can only be useful at a certain time. I have avatars/emergency cards/personal skills for Kevin, Janice, Maren, Kallie, John, Marcus, Loretia, and Sheri. Teams basically let you do team attacks in addition to let you have bonus effects based on the cards in play (Maren->Scout needs a Gunner's Guild character to let you tutor, that is search your deck and add a card to your hand, a personal skill if you have a teammate and can nail an extra resource). I recently changed a lot of cards to improve/balance them. PM me if you want to play a game online. Terrible game, apparently camstudio doesn't work well with full screen for MAME (but it lacks smaller resolutions), but still the game plays somewhat choppy with that jump kick, or I should say warp kick.

This game redefines slow even moreso than a lot of your old RPG's and Castlevania. You can also hold down a or b to stick your sword out permanently to attack enemies after that 2 second delay I complained about (which makes this game feel less fun) but this game is so slow that this difference is negligible. They can sometimes still kill you with sword stuck out if they move into you, what the hell is the point of this? Even worse is that there is a wizard who shoots at you in later levels who shoots at you 3 times faster than you can walk and you walk so slow to a safe zone that it is nearly impossible to avoid; You can block by not moving but it's bad enough that you walk slow and then to slow it down further is the epitome of bad gameplay. Then of course the delay before and after attacking hurts a lot too, if you think you gotta switch to block that shot.

1 Great game, 1 slightly bad game, and a really bad one. Regarding the "not that different" for the upgrades, I once collected 1 powerup while I had the red talisman/cards and it was just the same red thing that can be fired only 3 times at once. Also, in Pocky and Rocky 2, your upgrade system is useless (you only have 1 way to upgrade whereas the 1st one was range with the cards or power with the fireball that even has ricochets of shots at the higher levels) as that 3 mins and 20 seconds I mentioned was with max power alone on that 2nd boss. You're forced to abuse that partner attack.
