Another bike night! This time from Hoboken to Edgewater. Met up with my friend Johnny and his Super Motard crew. He rides a 2007 Husqvarna SM610 Supermoto. I love that bike. My family and I were coming home from Long Beach Island, NJ when we decided to stop for food and coffee at the Starbucks Cheesequake Travel Plaza on the NJ Garden State Parkway on 6/30/07. I ordered a regular iced coffee, then went to the car and started driving home. After drinking half of the cup, I handed it to my wife who was the passenger to share. As she was about to take a sip, she noticed something black floating in the middle. She then exclaimed, "Oh my god!" and showed me the bug. I nearly vomited while driving, but I held my composure and decided to videotape the disgusting sight. I never had an issue with Starbucks before but maybe you need to check your drinks or what you eat while driving before you put something in your mouth, since I wasn't paying attention to my beverage while driving. It was nasty. I decided to take some snapshots and videotaped the cup and receipt.

Just talking about how I was almost clipped by a left turning cager at an intersection, swerved and in the process a cop stops me for my license plate...any excuses to stop a biker even I almost got hit following road rules...oh the irony of it all!

I took this video on 4/16/07 behind the Jersey City reservoir (Parsippany, NJ) dam right after a big Nor'easter storm. What once was a harmless stream is now a river...I'm assuming its the dam flood control at work so the reservoir doesn't overflow...kinda cool

Talking about picking up a Scorpion EXO-700 helmet....how all states should allow lane splitting - legally. This guy is nuts. I would be scared ;) Those SUV's can be pretty menacing sitting there in traffic. Been hearing stories of these cagers ramming into bikes stopped in bumper to bumper traffic. I signed a petition a while back allowing lane sharing legally in NJ. I hope it becomes a law so I can do it too.

I wouldn't call it beginner - more like a cruise. The organizer only called it so because we are trying to get the beginner riders in my crew (TSSB) to join the rest of us and to get them acquainted to group riding. We showed them the proper etiquette, formation, and safety maneuvers...it turned out to be a great ride. Everyone was happy. The whole ride took about 8 hours so this is a ver condensed version just to give you an idea. This took place aroung Sussex County, NJ/NY, Orange County, etc...

Me and some friends go out drinking - mind you its cold out and my friend Skid shows up on his Suzuki Hayabusa - not knowing that it was going to snow hard that evening. He rode home in the storm - SLOWLY but made home. We all had a laugh about it the next day.
