2008 has been quite a year for the rotts. Sadie passed away, Nessy was dropped at a shelter after 11 years and found and rescued, just days before being put to death, Tippy was confused and upset a lot of the year. It's been one heck of a year for them all.

One of Tippy's favorite pastimes is to take bottle caps off bottles. Once he's done getting it off he doesn't want any more to do with it. We put it on real tight to see how long it takes him. He's too funny.

As all of you know We adopted Nessy on Sept 1st, Well my daughter just adopted a dog on Oct, 4th from the local humane society. His name is bernie and I have to say he is the cutest little thing. She hasn't had a dog in many years and her landlord finally said yes. Hope everyone enjoys.

Some people say animals can't feel. I hate to differ with them. After Sadie passed away, Tip went downhill, big time. He was eating less, sitting looking at her grave for hours on end, looking out the front door for her and his muzzle turned gray overnight. Even with Nessy here, and although he has perked up some, I worry constantly that he just won't be able to make it through without Sadie. This gentle giant has feelings and the pictures show it.

I just don't know why Nessy's family would give her up and dump her in a shelter after 11 years. I guess I can't comprehend it and it bothers me to no end. She has been loving and loyal and just great for us and especially Tippy to have around. I guess this is Nessy's second chance and I have to say although I don't approve of what her family did, I have to thank them, for letting us be her second chance.

Nessy is an 11 year old rottweiler who was dropped at a shleter by her family. Apparently they had a new baby and didn't want Nessy anymore, even though she had been raised with 2 of thier other children.. What a sad world it is that an 11 year old can't live out the remainder of her days with the one family she knew. I'm just glad we found her when we did. She is loving, loyal and devoted to us in just a week. She has turned out to be a good friend of Tippy's.

Tip is having a horrible time since Sadie has been gone. He has been with Sadie since he was 5 and a half weeks old. I'm spending as much time with him that I can. Tried walks, rides, just hanging with him. and talking to him. I know he won't get over her, but I hope he perks up soon. I am very concerned about him. I will keep everyone posted. As a lot of you know, Sadie started having issues gettin up almost a month ago. On her 20th and last day of anti inflammatories she got sick. On sunday she was worse, we took her to the emergency clinic where they found her temp high. they gave her antibiotics, 1 liter of fluid, and blood tests. On Monday morning I got the results of the blood work. Her calcium was very high and they felt it was solidifying thus causing her to have issues getting up. She was also in full renal failure. They felt there may be a tumor in her kidneys. We could have taken her to the specialists in the city who would put her on 24 hour fluids, do numerous tests. After considering this option, we decided to lay Sadie to rest instead. If they were able to keep her alive for a short while, she would never walk again because of the calcium formed in her joints and there is no cure for that. Sadie passed peacefully last night July 28th, 2008 at the age of 7 and a half. She was here for too short of a time. I would have done anything if only they could have saved her life without tubes and bottles and medicine. Sadie was our pretty girl, our protector, our guardian. She won our hearts from the moment we saw her. She had such personality and charisma, she will be dearly missed each and every day from now until eternity. I have faith that she is in heaven with my son Randy who passed away 23 years ago on July 28th, 1985. I know when she meets him he will love her just as much as we did. We love you Sadie, rest in peace my sweet girl. Until we meet again.

As some of you know, Sadie hasn't been well for the past month. Today was her last day of anti-inflammatories and muscle relaxants. She also didn't feel to good today. She doesn't seem worse, but she certainly is not any better. This video was taken 2 weeks ago when my daughter and 2 grandsons came down to see her. My oldest grandson is leaving august 7th for the army. He was supposed to go 2 weeks ago right after this video was taken and the army postponed it. Anyway, he got Sadie to play with her bowling ball that day. That was the first and last time she has touched it in a month. I am very concerned for her and I'm sure it means another trip to the vet. This is my way of partially showing you how she is doing. I'll post another video of her soon. Thankyou to all my friends for your concern for her.
