I've wanted a hedgehog, but added that to my wishlist of pets to get later on. Till a friend contacted me and her son had one he needed to rehome. He didn't have the time to care for it like he use to. But Fulci is a healthy, happy, though sometimes grouchy, little hedgehog. This is really a quickie video. As he bonds with me more, I plan to get him outside...better lighting. My room totally sucks for lighting. Always has. Even after new light fixtures and different bulbs. A little bit about hedgehogs. They are NOT rodents. They are NOT related to porcupines at all! Its like saying a cat and a mouse are related. They just aren't. Hedgehogs are in their own order. More closely related to moles. Their quills are not barbed, meaning that they will not stick and hold into you like a porcupine's quills do. They hurt, if you hold him too tight or if he headbutts/jumps at you with the quills out, but its nothing serious. They have cat like canine teeth. Eat high quality cat food, veggies, and superworms. They are nocturnal. They are not a good pet for everyone. They require a lot of handling, so if you are afraid of the spines and teeth, then it may not be the pet for you. Gotta kinda suck it up when they quill up. And if you do want one, check your state and local laws, some places either say these are totally illegal to keep or you need special permitting. They also do something called self anointing. I tried to film it, but just missed him doing it. They will lick nearly anything with a new smell, lick it till their mouth fills with foamy saliva, then they lick their spines, depositing the foamy saliva on there. No one truly knows why they do this. A couple of theories exist, such as masking their odor.

I started working on this since July and have rarely shelved it. I've worked on it at least once a week, with spurts of editing it for a few days in a row and then it annoyed me and I put it away till the next week. Video footage is from BBC/Discovery Channel's Planet Earth as well as some footage from Talbot's Whales and Dolphins DVD.

Such a perfect song for Spirit. Made using Sony Vegas Plat 7.0 I started working on this August 31st and finally finished it. It feels like I've been working on it for a lot longer. I kept remaking it, was just not satisfied over and over. And finally, I think I got it right. Also, near the end, there are less flashes, that wasn't due to laziness, I just thought it was too many flashes if I did it all the way through. I know I am stingy with effects and transitions sometimes.

Story wise, besides what the song says...The Great Prince is both neglectful and violent. Bambi sees how the Great Prince fights the dogs and leaves him alone and as he grows, he does the same things. Mirroring his father's poor behavior and only when its too late does the father see the error of his ways were copied by his son.

READ THIS FIRST!! For some reason the audio is crapping out. Its not as bad in high quality. This was an interesting video to make. I used audio from the movie Dot and the Whale, since the music is not available on CD. So there is some voice over and sound effects, but they work pretty well. Dot and the Whale is about a little girl named Dot, who finds a beached whale. Dot can speak to animals and the whale tells her she wants to die. She watched her family get slaughtered and she doesn't want to live. This is a kid's movie BTW. So the voice you hear is Tonga's, the whale. The first song is Mother Sea. Then the song ends, and you go into another song/video, "Why Don't They Leave Us Alone?". This is also from the movie. Dot meets the fabled Moby Dick, who is still alive, but very old. He tells her to let Tonga die if she wants to, and the song starts playing soon after. Then there is a end titles repeat of Mother Sea, again. I didn't feel like splitting it up into 3 separate videos. But I think it works well like this.

This was a hellava bitch to make. Just deciding who's POV was hard. I ended up switching it around. It starts as Bambi/Great Prince and then Bambi's mother comes into the mix, then it switches back to just Bambi/Great Prince, and then Bambi's mother is in there again. Try to imagine that the scenes with his mom are his adoptive mom, EXCEPT the chase seen up to her death and the dream sequence of her spirit. The storyline: The Great Prince keeps leaving Bambi alone. Finally Bambi must leave the Great Prince to live with his adoptive mother. But when he is in danger, the Great Prince is there to help him, but leaves again. Finally he's able to prove himself to his father, but Bambi dies in the process. He sees his mother on "the other side", but their reunion is short and Bambi's spirit leaves his mother's side to rejoin his father, and in the end, his father leaves him one final time.
